What is coaching?
Coaching
supports people to clarify and realize their dreams. Coaching is a form
of one-to-one or group work in a professional relationship aimed at
helping people get the most out of their lives.
My work
involves coaching that addresses a person’s whole life, recognizing
that the various aspects of our lives are intricately interwoven on
many levels. The focus is up to the client, and may include career or
personal life, relationships, finance, health, recreation, personal
growth, or overall satisfaction. Coaching may address specific
projects, overall goals, or general conditions in any of these areas.
Many people come to coaching to help deal with transitions in their
lives, helping illuminate the challenges and possible solutions that
lie before them.
Coaching is done either by telephone or in
person, with sessions typically lasting 30 minutes to an hour.
Coaching is not advice, counseling, or therapy, though it does involve
very direct and personal conversation. Coaching often includes setting
priorities, establishing goals, identifying resources, brainstorming,
creating action plans, and making commitments, among other things.
Coaching brings power and focus to our deepest desires. Ultimately,
coaching is about success, satisfaction, and fulfillment – in short,
about having an extraordinary life.
